Within SD61, there are four Indigenous Houses. These Houses represent the Songhees Nation, Esquimalt Nation, Métis Nation of Greater Victoria, and the Urban Peoples House Indigenous Advisory (UPHIA). In relationship with the school district and the Indigenous Education Department, they help support Indigenous students, families, and school communities through cultural connection, guidance, and advocacy. This ongoing relationship helps create spaces where identity, learning, and well-being are valued, respected, and supported.
