Today, Métis fiddling continues to thrive as a living tradition within the Métis Nation, connecting generations through music and storytelling.

Did You Know?

The school district has its own Métis Fiddle Program. This program was created and lead by Teacher, Jen Hill, and she provides students with the opportunity to engage with this Métis cultural learning experiences. The upbeat energy of this traditional musical instrument – along with dance, rhythm, and storytelling – is a great way for students to engage with this important piece of music. The program also shares its music at a variety of community events, including the Indigenous Education Graduation.
