Coastal Wave Basketball

Coastal Wave Basketball empowers Indigenous youth, with a special focus on girls, through culturally safe and inclusive basketball programming. By combining sport with cultural pride and strong community connections, the program supports confidence, well-being, and a sense of belonging, grounded in the belief that community supports community both on and off the court.

Did You Know? This past June (2026), Coastal Wave Basketball hosted its first-ever Indigenous youth tournament at the University of Victoria. Over 650 Indigenous athletes came together for this historic event, marking the first time UVic has hosted an all-Indigenous sporting tournament.

Fusion West’s Lacrosse

Looking to bring Indigenous sports into your school? Lacrosse Fusion is a great organization to connect with. Fusion West’s Lacrosse for Schools program engages students in the game of lacrosse while also teaching the Indigenous history and origins of the sport. The program aims to build excitement and interest in lacrosse through gym class sessions, with the hope of encouraging continued participation in local community programs.
