What You Need to Know

Visiting the Library

The Indigenous Education Department (IED) Library is a rich and growing collection of Indigenous-authored and Indigenous-focused resources. The library is currently located at Margaret Jenkins Elementary School.

We welcome all district staff and students to borrow from our collection, which includes authentic Indigenous books, hands-on learning kits, games, puzzles, classroom book sets, maps, and more. Loan periods are three weeks for books and two weeks for learning kits. We kindly ask that items are returned on time so they remain available for others to use. While there is no fee to borrow materials, borrowers are responsible for replacing any lost or damaged items.

As the library space is also used for classes and programming throughout the week, visits are by appointment only. To arrange a visit, please contact iedlibrary@sd61.bc.ca.
